Shirley is also a Registered Dental Hygienist or as she likes to call it "Real Dental Hygienist". She has been a hygienist for over 20 years in both the USA and Australia.

Shirley has several hobbies. She enjoys working out and yoga exercises. Remodeling her house is one of her passions. Shirley says she works just so she can keep on remodeling and visit her favorite vacation spot which is her birthplace of Sydney Australia.

Shirley takes many classes and participates in study groups. She currently is involved in a group which is studying Arestin™ which is a new subgingival antibiotic for use in the treatment of periodontal disease. She is also taking classes on GTR (Guided Tissue Regeneration) procedures. GTR deals with regenerating the gums and bone structure lost from periodontal disease.
